By accessing or using the University of Eldoret E-Campus platform (“E-Campus”, “Site”, “Service”, "LMS", "Moodle", "Video Conference"), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access or use this Site.

1. Acceptance of Terms

1.1 This Site is operated by the University of Eldoret (“UoE”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
1.2 Using this Site constitutes your acceptance of these Terms and all policies referenced herein.

2. Definitions

2.1 User: Any individual accessing or using the Site, including students, instructors, administrators, and visitors.
2.2 Content: All course material, discussions, files, links, text, multimedia, and other educational resources provided through the Site.

3. Use of Service

3.1 Access to the E-Campus is granted for official academic and educational purposes only.
3.2 Users must provide accurate information when creating accounts and maintain confidentiality of their login credentials.
3.3 Users are responsible for all activity carried out through their accounts.

4. User Conduct

4.1 You agree not to use the Site to:

  • Engage in illegal, harmful, or abusive behavior.
  • Upload malicious software or spam the platform.
  • Harass or threaten other users.

4.2 Academic honesty is required. Cheating, plagiarism, or manipulating course content is prohibited.

5. Content Ownership and License

5.1 All course content and materials are the intellectual property of the University of Eldoret or its licensors unless otherwise stated.
5.2 Users are permitted to view and download materials for personal academic use only. Redistribution, modification, or commercial use is prohibited.

6. Privacy and Data Protection

6.1 Your personal data will be handled in accordance with the University’s privacy practices.
6.2 Data processing complies with applicable law (including Kenya’s Data Protection Act where applicable).
6.3 By using this Site, you consent to collection and use of information in accordance with the Site’s Privacy Policy.

7. Responsibility and Limitations

7.1 The University does not guarantee that the E-Campus Site will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components.
7.2 UoE is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Site.

8. Suspension and Termination

8.1 The University may suspend or terminate a user’s access for violations of these Terms or applicable policies.
8.2 Termination does not relieve you of responsibilities for actions taken prior to termination.

9. Changes to Terms

9.1 The University may update these Terms at any time without prior notice. The updated Terms will be posted on the Site.
9.2 Continued use after posting of changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

10. Governing Law

10.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya.
10.2 Any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.
