This course deals with the applications of measurement science in manufacturing processes. It provides a means of assessing the suitability of measuring instruments, their calibration, and the quality control of manufactured components. At the end of the course the learner must be completely familiar with the basics of measurement, standards and systems of measurement, measuring instruments, and their limitations.
- Teacher: Rosemary Korir
Purpose of the course
The course will introduce
students to the basic physics of semi-conductor devices, principles of
operational Amplifiers and digital electronics
- Teacher: Noah Serem
Purpose of the Course
Equip students with the applications of thermodynamic principles to the design and optimization of engineering systems. Specifically, students will have the ability to apply the first and second law of thermodynamics to (1) vapor power systems, (2) gas power systems, (3) thermodynamics of combustion systems such as furnaces, flow reactors etc.
- Teacher: Harrison Tarus
Purpose of the course
This course aims to equip students with advanced understanding of the theory and working principles of fluid machines and hydrodynamic transmission systems. Students will learn to design and select fluid machinery such as pumps and turbines and determine their performance characteristics.
