Real fluid flow in nozzles; Energy equation critical pressure and temperature, exit velocity, Isentropic efficiency, Convergent nozzle, convergent-divergent nozzle, Mach number. Theory of surfaces and interfaces, influence of service chemistry Phenomena of friction wear, lubrication and adhesion, Characteristics of lubrication viscosity and classification. Engineering applications of lubricants in bearings, metal forming processes and metal cutting processes. Wears: experiments and theories.
