Parallel and Distributed Systems is a computer science course that explores how multiple processors, computers, or computing resources/nodes work together to solve problems efficiently and improve system performance. The course covers the principles, architectures, algorithms, and programming techniques used to design and implement systems that perform computations concurrently.
Students learn the fundamentals of parallel computing, where multiple tasks execute simultaneously on multicore processors or clusters, and distributed computing, where independent computers communicate and coordinate over a network to achieve a common goal
Course Goal:
To equip learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to analyse, design, implement, and evaluate parallel and distributed computing systems for high-performance and large-scale applications.
