Purpose of the Course

The purpose of this course is to equip students with up-to-date knowledge on safety related to the use of biotechnology, make them aware of policy and regulatory measures that are required to keep the environment safe from any adverse effects that may be caused by using products of biotechnology, inform them of practical measures involved in handling genetically modified organisms and the possible impact these organisms may have on the environment, and of the current practices employed in risk analysis.
